RE-LOOP
Re-Loop is a project that explores how industrial sites can be reimagined through a circular economy driven by care, maintenance, and resource exchange. Rather than viewing circulation as simply a path for movement, the project proposes a caretaker network that connects gardens, markets, workshops, storage spaces, and exhibition programs through the continuous flow of resources.
At the centre of this system is the Gardener’s Residence. Located within the Gardener’s Block, the dwelling houses the caretaker responsible for maintaining the site’s productive landscapes, including the private UV garden. Produce grown within the gardens is distributed throughout the site, while organic waste is composted and returned to the growing cycle, creating a self-sustaining loop.
Embedded within this productive landscape, the residence blurs the boundary between living, working, and maintaining. Rather than a conventional house, it becomes an ambiguous dwelling inseparable from the systems it supports, an architecture of care that could exist nowhere else.
